Side Sewer Permits
What is a Side Sewer?
A side sewer is the underground pipe that carries wastewater from a building or home to the public sewer main. It serves as the private connection between your property's plumbing and the District's sewer system. Property owners are responsible for the maintenance and repair of their side sewer, including any portion located in the public right-of-way.
Permit requests must be made in person at the District office, Monday-Friday between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
Payment Options:
Payment must be made by cash, check, or money order.
- $250 for work on private property
- Additional $750 if a Right-of-Way Permit is required
If Work Is Done by a Contractor:
- Provide a copy of your L&I registration number and expiration date
- Submit a Certificate of Liability Insurance naming Skyway Water & Sewer District as an additional insured
If Work Is Done by the Property Owner:

The property owner must sign a Hold Harmless Agreement if completing the repair themselves (instead of hiring a licensed contractor).
This agreement confirms that the owner assumes full responsibility for the repair work and agrees to release and indemnify Skyway Water & Sewer District from any liability, claims, or damages resulting from the repair activities.
