WATER SUPPLY VOLUNTARY CURTAILMENT - "REDUCE YOUR USE" Stage 2 Voluntary (Update)
WATER SUPPLY VOLUNTARY CURTAILMENT - “REDUCE YOUR USE”
Wednesday, August 26, 2015
On August 11, 2015 the regions water suppliers, including Skyway Water and Sewer District, asked their customers to voluntarily reduce their water use by 10% to stretch water supplies for people and fish until the rainy season arrives. Over the past two weeks, the region collectively reduced water use by 10%, meeting the goal set by the Cities of Seattle, Tacoma and Everett. We want to thank our customers for their part in meeting this goal and ask that you continue to limit your use of water.
Skyway Water and Sewer District has three sources of water: Cascade Water Alliance (Seattle Public Utilities), City of Renton and District wells. As a member of Cascade Water Alliance, Skyway joined Seattle Public Utilities, Tacoma Water and the City of Everett in declaring a water advisory in July, followed by Voluntary Water Curtailment beginning August 11th. With continued record-setting hot and dry weather, Skyway is asking residents and businesses to continue to limit your use of water. Here are ways you can “reduce your use”.
